12 Best Things I Love to Bring on Glamping Trips

1. Kleen Kanteen.  Whether it's hot or cold beverages, our kleen kanteen keeps the temperature for 24 hours!  I love using this because I can keep refilling it with water, and still have ice till the next day.  Not that we have shortage of ice cold drinks, but having a sealed bottle makes for a permanent "glass" that I can leave anywhere without fear of spills or insects/debris getting into my drink.

2. Pillows and linen.  The most important part is having a good night's sleep, so I bring almost half of our bedroom.   It's no surprise that I bring 4 pillows, a queen-sized mattress topper, linen and even blankets of different thickness --- so I can select which one to use depending on the weather/temperature.  I love setting up this temporary bedroom and look forward to bedtime.  I get to enjoy the best of both worlds...curled up in fresh linen while enjoying nature's aircon under the stars.

3.  Folding chair.  This folding chair is one of the best pieces of furniture I bought, ever!  It's so comfy and soft that I sometimes sleep on it.  It's so comfy that, one time, me and my husband slept on these chairs under a pop up tent canopy on a stormy night.  Early morning, the wind was so strong, it blew the tent away!  What did we do?  We opened our eyes and checked if the tent was gonna fall on us.  Seeing it wasn't, we went back to sleep, hahaha!  I initially got this for the house whenever we'd have movie nights and needed extra seating in the bedroom.  Little did I know that it will be a staple whenever we go glamping or hangout at the cemetery on all soul's day.

4.  Speakers.  Whether it's watching a movie on our laptops, a projector, listening to music, or nature sounds, having these handy speakers truly sets the mood.  It's funny coz one time we had some massage therapists over and decided to setup the place like a spa...that included playing the sound of crickets in the background.  It was only after a couple of minutes when we realized that the speakers already died and the crickets continued on making that sound.  Bwahahahaha!  We were so comfortable we forgot we were indeed out and in nature

5. Gadgets.  Whenever we're out glamping, we rarely pay attention to our phones or gadgets and use them only for the following reasons/purpose: callling for food delivery when we're too lazy to cook, calling for massage therapists, music, movie night, and taking some photos.  There's truly so many other things to do and enjoy that being unplugged from the outside world is really a breath of fresh air.

6.  Portable stove.  We love to cook.  Having this portable stove gets things done.  From cooking rice, frying eggs, pasta, to a full on curry dish, it's like cooking at home!  A can of butane goes a long way and we even use it on lamps.  This portable stove comes in handy whenever I run out of Gasul in the middle of cooking something or those shabu shabu parties we have at home.

7.  Yakiniku grill.  Goodbye uling!  Gone are the days of pointing at who gets to do the arduous task of getting the grill started.  Now it's as simple as turning on the stove, putting the yakiniku grill on top of it, then start grilling!

8.  Coco goes Cuckoo.  I love how we get to share this experience with our dog, Coco.  He gets to run free, secure the premises, and sleep beside us at night.  He also gets to spend time and mingle with his JRT (girl) friend Cuckoo.  It's such a joy to see how happy and alive they are: run, sniff, pee, run, sniff, pee...all this activity releases all of Coco's pent up energy that he sleeps an entire day when we get home.

9.  Drip coffee.  Coffee is life.  I love a good cup of coffee in the morning, meaning no to 3 in 1!  Don't we just love Japan and all their bright ideas and cute little inventions?  This instant drip coffee is one of that.  It has become a staple baon whenever I spend the night elsewhere ;)

10.  Candles.  Nope, we don't use these for lighting purposes because we have solar powered and/or butane lamps, sometimes electricity, and sometimes the good old star studded sky and moonlight.  Whether it's citronella to deter pests, a romantic candle-lit dinner, or scattered around the sleeping area for the total spa night experience, these candles complete the ambiance.  It also helps mask the aroma of flatulent friends after having Korean food or a night of laughter.

11. Hammock. Setting up the hammock gives us another sleeping/chill out area.  It's light, easy to setup, and keeps away bugs and a cold damp floor.  Swing, zip, unzip, with a pillow, sitting down, flat on your back, or however you choose to use it, a hammock is one of the easiest and cheapest pieces of "furniture" to bring on a trip.  Just make sure to secure the lines/knots and have the heaviest person test it to avoid falling in the middle of the night.

12. Sunscreen.  I know what you're thinking and I'm not pertaining to that.  I can't be bothered to put any type of lotion because I don't like the sticky feeling especially on these trips.  I am talking about our military grade class IV radar deflecting camouflage "shade".  Why?  Because it lets in light without the heat.  Why?  Because it protects us from light rain without obstructing the view.  Why?  Well...because...why not?  We have 2 and it is imperative that we use it!  Okay fine, just incase you don't have this, may I suggest using a Balinese Parasol instead?  Why?  Because it's purrrrrrrteeeeeee!!!! :)
